This week we've been working to remedy a series of longstanding bugs or improve some boring but impactful issues. Read more below.
Improvements
- When uploading plan PDFs or selection photos, we create variants of these images in different sizes. Before you had to wait for the image variants to be created. Now, these variants are all generated in the background. This means when you go to open a selection or architectural plan to see the images, they should load much faster!
- We added further meta data to our blog posts so they will be indexed along with the rest of our website content. This should help elevate any relevant content when using search engines to find information about Custom Builder Select.
Bugfixes
- For any users who have their notifications set to send once per day or once per week, you were receiving one email for every notification. Now, you should only receive one email with a digest of all the notifications. These emails are sent at 8am eastern time.
- When approving or rejecting a selection the status badge would randomly expand with whitespace. This has been corrected.
What's Next
The coming weeks we will be working on some improvements to how architectural plans are handled when being uploaded. This includes:
- Automatically categorizing plans using AI rather than requiring users to select categories manually.
- Improving the recommendation engine for which templates to suggest when adding new draft projects.
- Allowing multipage architectural plans to be uploaded. We will automatically break apart these plans into separate documents.
- Moving the architectural plans to be managed from within he project settings rather than the project homepage.
- Adding plans to the specification packages. This will allow users to maintain a history of their plans throughout the lifetime of a project.
